Chamonix-Zermatt traverse

Chamonix Zermatt or the ‘haute route’ is a spectacular ski tour that departs from Mont Blanc and crosses glaciers and valleys until arriving at the foot of the Cervino and Mount Rosa. This tour is a classic and ski touring lovers should not miss out.
Our tour lasts 6 days with the 7th day as a backup weather day. Departure from Chamonix is recommended on a Tuesday.

Day 1
Meeting point Chamonix where we will do a material check and then depart with the first cable car "Gran Montets". Descent of the Argentiere Glacier and the re-ascent to the col du Passon.  Arrival at the Cabanne du Trient. 1000m of vertical ascent

Day 2
We descend to the village of Arpette where we take a taxi to Verbier.  From Verbier we take the lift to Mont Fort, then we descend to the glacier below.  Here we put on our skins and head up the Rosa Blanche. With an easy descent we arrive at the refuge Plafleuri. 600m of vertical ascent.

Day 3
Easy long ascent to the refuge Dix

Day 4
We ascend via an easy and panoramic glacier to the Pigna Arolla. Short an easy descent to the refuge Vignette. 800m of vertical ascent.

Day 5
Glacial descent, followed by an ascent to the Col de l’Eveque. We then descend a crevassed glacier to Col Colon and we continue until the turn off to the Berthol refuge.  Here we put on the skins and in approx. 2 and a half hours we arrive at the refuge.  950m vertical ascent

Day 6
Crossing a gentle and easy glacier we arrive at Tete Blanche. From here there is a spectacular descent under the Cervino until we arrive in Zermatt. 500m Vertical ascent.
Return to Chamonix by taxi

Day 7  by request

The mountain guide may modify the program due to weather conditions and the physical fitness of the participants.
Each guide will be responsible for 4 clients and they will provide the participants with: ARVA, shovel, avalanche probe, crampons and harness if needed.
The price does not include any personal materials not described below.
Payment upfront in cash on the first morning.
The price is calculated based on 4 participants per guide, if there are less participants the price will be recalculated.
